| Posted: 02 Mar 2020 09:25 AM PST I was using constant contact to send out a monthly newsletter and for a few other things, but I was finding it expensive. At one point the system let me create a bunch of emails but wouldn't let me send it unless I upgraded the package to an even higher one. So they basically tricked me into doing a bunch of work, but I couldn't use send it out as it was unless I paid more, I just junked the emails. Now I want to cancel. There is no online option to cancel, you must call in and speak to someone. I've called in twice now and just sat on hold for over an hour and just had to give up because like all of us, I have a lot to do in a day and I ran out of sit and wait time. TLDR, Don't use constant contact unless you never plan on cancelling. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 01 Mar 2020 11:38 PM PST I'm a new agent who joined Century 21 back in November. I joined a "team" of 3 members. My mentor and team leader has 37 years in the business and pretty much tells me whatever I need to know about the business on demand. I prospect on my own with my own money and my "team" offers no lead benefits whatsoever. Should I expect more from a team? I really like the part where there's someone I can call no matter what may arise, but I see so many agents here are on a team that provides them lead gen, etc. Especially considering I'm only 3 deals in and 50/50 with my broker still. I'm pretty torn. I like my mentor a lot but he's older now and pretty burnt out of the business, so there isn't much activity going on [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 02 Mar 2020 12:29 PM PST Hi. So I'm a new realtor, since September. I am helping my brothers, two separate transactions, purchase a house. I figured it's my brothers so know need for crazy paperwork. So the each put an offer on a home that I found for both of them (Two homes). Long story short, I wasn't with them when they put the offer but I did find them the homes and I went with them in the to look at the homes. But the following day, I got a broker referral agreement for each of them and I signed it and returned it. Afterwards, I noticed it was a 3% referral instead of the 5% percent that I would get as a buyer agent. 5% is what we agreed on and my broker was cool with it since he normal does 6%. My question is, did I fuck myself in 2% or am I still gonna get it? Or am I just lost and I have no clue what I'm doing? I emailed my broker but he has said he's out of town until next Monday. I want to know so I can sort it out or just leave it be. It's the first transaction I got since I got my license so I'm kinda going about it blindly. Any advice would be appreciated. Sorry for the sloppiness, I'm writing this up on my phone. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 02 Mar 2020 11:42 AM PST Hey all! I'm looking to get into becoming a TC to make extra money when times are a little slow and extra money never hurts any way. I have been an agent for about 6 years. I just want to know what you TC's are using especially if you are adding team members to your TC workforce. Also please include anything else that can help me in starting this business like what you typically charge, services you include, average transactions a month.... Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it! [link] [comments] |
| Realtors with IDX built in to your websites. Is it worth it? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 10:44 AM PST I'm in the process of building my website. From my understanding, it costs $100/month to pull in nearby listings via IDX into my site. Is it worth it? I know it can potentially generate leads but not sure if folks are even searching that way anymore. Seems like everyone is either on Redfin, Zillow, etc. It may be worth it if it gives my personal brand credibility for prospective clients to see more listings on my site. Thoughts? | Expectations for a listing agent Posted: 02 Mar 2020 10:20 AM PST I'm selling a house that is 3x the average home price for my area. The realtor I'm working with asked for a 6% commission. What should I expect from a listing agent in terms of marketing the property beyond photographs and the listing itself? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 02 Mar 2020 09:20 AM PST Hi Everyone, I purchased the CE Shop to get my real estate courses done with. I currently am able to take my national and state exam since I completed course 1. I was wondering if anyone has used their Exam Prep Edge and whether or not it helps out that much? I will be taking my state portion on Wednesday and I wanted to just check to see if anyone else has had success using this? TLDR: Has anyone used the CE Shop Exam Prep Edge and does it prepare you for both national and state exams? [link] [comments] |
| Holding a license in two states. Posted: 02 Mar 2020 04:01 AM PST I'm taking a realtor course here in Illinois in a couple weeks and plan to get my license in Wisconsin as well. Many people here on the northern border want to get out of Illinois (which has been experiencing population loss for years) and move to Wisconsin. The way I see it I could provide more value by having both. Will I run into issues trying to do both? What sort of hurdles should I expect and prepare for? Any insight is appreciated. | Let's talk about open houses and knowing what else is available Posted: 01 Mar 2020 04:18 PM PST So I'm a rookie at this and I think I've read almost every post in the subreddit looking for tips. Several of you have talked about holding tons of open houses when you are new to the business. I've seen several suggestions along the lines of when you hold that open house and someone makes a comment about liking the house but wishes there was a bigger kitchen, you make a comment to them about one down the road that's available that has a better kitchen set up and how it isn't an open house, but you can get them in to look. Here's my question....how do you know about the other houses in the area and what the features are? Are you requesting showings by your lonesome and checking them out? I'm assuming that's it. I would feel bad getting a homeowner to get out of there house for a showing in which I don't have a buyer...should I just get over that feeling? [link] [comments] |
| High coronavirus area perspectives Posted: 01 Mar 2020 02:11 PM PST Anyone in Washington, Oregon, Illinois realtors how has the coronavirus affected your market? Are you noticing and patterns? what is your stratagy for this issue? Would be good to know the upcoming obstacles [link] [comments] |
| Few questions from someone looking into realty as a career Posted: 01 Mar 2020 10:57 PM PST So I was thinking about getting into realty. Would that be a good choice for someone who is 19 years old? I do have 4 years of customer experience and I love working with people so that may help a tad. If you do think it's a good idea, what all does one need to do to get into it all? I know I need to get a license but is there anything else I need to do? Like college classes or anything? And what is a good way to get said license? I live in WI. I dont know if state matters based on laws or anything. Thank you to anyone in advance that may answer my question. And if you dont think itd be good for someone as young as me to get into it, please be honest and tell me. I appreciate it greatly😊 [link] [comments] |
