My firm is being super annoying right now.

My firm really hasn't handled this covid-19 situation well. It took them way too long for the staff to be WFH. Just for some context: Compared to other firms in my area, they are old school when it comes to coming into the office. They want the agents to be at the office as much as possible. I'm a newer agent. Been there a year and a half.

They weren't taking Covid-19 seriously. I told my BIC I won't be attending the weekly sales meetings anymore bc it's 50 ppl mashed up in a room and why couldn't we do a zoom meeting? This was 3-4 weeks ago. My BIC didn't know what zoom was. I received a very insensitive response back.

Anyways, I don't have any clients right now. The buyers I was working with lost their jobs and are holding off. Everything has to be done virtually, showings, listing appts etc. Kind of a hard time to solicit business.

We have had so many damn meetings it's insane. Each one is a waste of time. Each meeting is over an hour. They don't know the answers to any of our questions. Every company email that has been sent out, you can just smell the greed from a mile away. They don't care about our health just money unfortunately.

We had 3 one hour+ meetings last week. Each one didn't help but just makes me more negative and frustrated.

Since I'm a newer agent, I have to do certain things they tell me to do and during these times I think they should just lay off a bit.

Tomorrow we have 2 mf meetings. We have homework, a buyer presentation basically. There's 20 of us. That's going to take forever and we are all basically going to say the same things. No one is going to tell their secrets etc. Pointless.

    Ok here's my question:

I have a lot going on right now, my husband got laid off, navigating through our taxes, unemployment, helping my family and I am super stressed in general about all of this as is everyone else.

How can I tell them professionally that I have too much going on for their stupid meetings that are just giving us busy work?

I get that they want to keep us engaged but they are doing way too much. We have never had so many meetings normally during when we can actually go out there and work and now on lockdown can't do anything.

Doing research around the Agent and client lifecycle

    Posted: 06 Apr 2020 10:56 AM PDT

    Hey everyone,

I'm doing some research into building a better digital platform/product for Real Estate Agents. I'm looking to gain some better insights as to what your day to day looks like, what your current frustrations are with the mortgage process, lender relationships, document handoff, etc.

I'd love to pass along a survey for any of you to fill out at your leisure. If you're interested, I'm conducting more in-depth interviews for a $25 Amazon gift card as well. These interviews should only last around 15 minutes.

    Thank you!

Did you guys intend to be realtors?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2020 03:13 PM PDT

I initially never intended to be a realtor. I worked in finance after college for a year and hated it. I joined the military after 9/11. Served 2 tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. Nearly died on the tour in Iraq and left the army. Was going to be a cop but my PTSD was too much for it. I found out about being a realtor and did the nesesscary work needed to become one. So what about you guys?

Can a non full time agent apply for an SBA disaster loan?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2020 04:49 PM PDT

I have a full time job but recently (5 months ago) renewed my real estate license after many years of inactivity. I haven't earned any commission since the renewal. Although I did have expenses. My goal is to eventually transition from the "day job" to 100% real estate agent.

Would I be eligible for the Disaster Loan (grant) from the SBA?

About to get done with the first course (Principles of RE) of my online RE school and I’m getting ready to take the Unit exam. Just wondering, is the course exam just a compilation of questions from the 12 units?

Just trying to find the most efficient way to prep for the exam, I feel good about what I've learned and my ability to memorize it. Btw I'm in TX and going through VanEd.

    Thanks guys
