"MatterPort vs Zillow 3D Home" and "Theta V vs One X" for Virtual Tours Posted: 26 May 2020 10:56 AM PDT I hope this is the appropriate sub to make this post. I currently offer virtual tours using MatterPort and the Insta360 One X for a reasonable rate considering the quality is less than those created with higher end cameras. So far I've done around 5 tours and all have turned out great. My favorite thing being how easy it is to use MatterPort as it's basically foolproof. However, the biggest issue I'm running into is what my clients should do with the tour once I send them the link to the tour, and the fact that they have to have a MatterPort subscription if they want to keep the tour for an extended period of time as I can't host them forever. It seems like it's hard to integrate a MatterPort tour anywhere besides social media, as most of these tours are for Zillow listings which the tour doesn't integrate that well(aka buried at the bottom of the listing description). Looking more into Zillow, I see that they have their own virtual tour platform called "Zillow 3D Home". When using this, the tour can be uploaded directly to the Zillow listing and the listing itself is now displayed with a badge that says "3D Home" on the property thumbnail to motivate people to check out the listing, to which the tour is located at the top of the page. To my knowledge, this platform is also FREE, which is a huge selling point. Unfortunately, it looks like this platform is only compatible with Ricoh Theta V and Z1 cameras, so I would need to make the investment, likely in a Theta V as I can't afford the Z1 quite yet(also would keep my One X for personal reasons so I would be eating this cost). I'm also going to be a little bitter if a year down the road Zillow becomes compatible with the One X, but that is what it is. What are your experiences with both? Besides having a "doll house" view in MatterPort, is there an advantage to one over the other? Is it worth the investment to jump platforms and cameras entirely? Do you find it easier to market and sell with one over the other? Any other advice you can offer? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 May 2020 04:16 PM PDT I just a bought a new MacBook Pro, which is great. But I have to use an SD Card adaptor to upload photos. When I use the adaptor, it takes about 90 minutes to upload 1 set of photos and sometimes doesn't read some of my .cr2 files. When I used my aunts home computer, it reads the "unreadable" files and takes about 10 minutes to upload a set of photos. Does anyone face this problem? I can't always go to my aunts and use her computer. Will using a more expensive and higher quality SD Card adaptor speed up the issue? [link] [comments] |

Changing pricing after just starting? Posted: 26 May 2020 12:20 PM PDT Hi! I relatively recently started and realized I priced a bit low for this big urban market. I put my rates on an unlisted link so it's not shown on my site. There are around 6 realtors who have seen those rates. Do you think I can make another unlisted link with a bit higher rates and send them to upcoming realtors when they ask? I guess I can say that those 6 realtors are my introductory rates but everyone else I charge what I want? Especially for video work it's taken way more time than I thought and I wish I can just increase them slightly higher, thanks! [link] [comments] |
