Just a renter with a question. Posted: 13 Jun 2020 06:05 AM PDT We are a family of 4 living in a 2 bedroom in NC. The landlord has decided to sell but didn't tell the leasing office. Ive been contacted by a realtor asking for photos of my side of the home (townhouse). Now he's trying to push an open house and I don't feel comfortable having random people walking around my house while I have a newborn (covid). I also just paid this month's rent but no one has given me an updated lease since my year lease expired this month. I need about 4 months to pack up and leave but I don't want to be jerked around with no new lease. Can someone give me advice [link] [comments] |
Concerns about working in real estate Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:11 PM PDT I'm looking into becoming a realtor but have two major concerns and I wanted to see if people think these are legitimate concerns. 1.) No work during a recession: During the recession people are not buying homes and therefore there is no work for the agents. As the job is the only income this can be very devastating finically. As we are going through a recession right now, are people not buying homes right now? 2.) The job becoming extinct due to technology- With the advancement of technology the process of buying homes can be done with computers and the job of real estate agents will no longer exist. Licence before or after joining brokerage? Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:05 PM PDT Make brokerages offer discounts on courses ext, but would it look better to have one going in? I'm just starting out on this career journey and I am wondering which route would be better. [link] [comments] |

Are we allowed make international referrals and earn a fee? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 02:16 PM PDT Im in the US and have a fried in Canada who is interested in buying. I'd like to connect him with the best person possible. Are we allowed to make these types of referrals? Anything I should know that might be different from the norm? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 07:21 PM PDT Hi everyone! I'm getting my real estate license in VA, specifically for the NOVA area and I'm pretty anxious. It seems like the market is extremely competitive and I'm wondering if I even have a chance considering I'm not even from the area. Did anyone have success as a new agent when they moved to a new area? If so, do you have any tips for a newbie? TYIA. [link] [comments] |
Any loans officers here that switched to real estate? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 07:44 PM PDT I've been in the mortgage industry for 3 years now. I've been an assistant, I have my licenses. I always wondered what it would be like to work as a realtor. I'm scared of changes but wanted to know if anyone here has made that switch? I know real estate and mortgage go hand in hand but at the same time they're completely different fields. [link] [comments] |
Florida Residential Leasing Agreement - Two Years Posted: 12 Jun 2020 05:56 PM PDT I know that in Florida there is no maximum for how many years you can lease a property, as long as there are two witnesses signing the agreement, but the standard is 1 year. I have a client that wants to sign a 2 year lease agreement right off the bat to make his offer stronger, but I cannot find that agreement anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find this so that I can send in an offer with that lease agreement? [link] [comments] |
Which brokerage has the best training and resources for their agents? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:11 PM PDT I have called 10+ Orange County/Los Angeles brokers to interview them. My priority with my first brokerage is having a broker who's available to help whenever needed and good training in things like writing purchase agreements, contingencies, other contracts, etc. I'm not too worried about the commission split because I'd rather be at a brokerage where I'm actually closing transactions and learning so that I can hop to a different brokerage with a better split in a few years. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 04:27 PM PDT Again, trying to help my buddy's daughter become an agent. I personally work for a smaller brokerage and live far away from them, and recommended once she has her license she start off at a big brokerage for name recognition sake etc. She's reaching out to see opportunities with big name brokerages to get a feel for the field such as apprenticeships, and my first instinct is that it could possibly turn into a bad idea? Please correct me if I'm wrong as I've never run into apprenticeships/interns in my career as I'm with a smaller brokerage who doesn't hire interns. To me, ESPECIALLY because of Covid, I feel like apprenticeships wouldn't necessarily be the "job shadowing" that's she's hoping for, but rather the email from an agent saying "yo can you make 6 of these advertisements for me, thanks". Can you guys explain to me what these interns typically actually do? I'm helping her out as much as I can over phonecalls on the selling/listing/closing process through her dad, but it just gets weird and inneffective. Specifically she's looking to apply for an apprenticeship with Re/Max or possibly a brokerage in her state called Edina Realty. Just wondering other experienced agents from big name brokerages thoughts on if they think interns/apprentices from their brokerage actually learned useful things. Edit: TLDR: What tasks do assistants/interns/apprenticeships typically do at your brokerage? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 03:02 PM PDT I'm starting out and some new realtors said they were disappointed in my work, didn't really give me feedback other than that and then I haven't heard back anything after. A few weeks later I check the listing and I saw it reshot. Wish I had a chance they could communicate to me why they didn't like the pics and how I could improve. A lot of the raw pics are there but just ways to edit that can be easily improved to get the pics to how you want. Some I even asked for feedback and all they said is thanks. I know now they will just use the other photographer/another one and that makes me feel bad that I disappointed them. I understand though if it's a time thing and you guys don't have time and rather just pay again for another photographer though [link] [comments] |

Posted: 12 Jun 2020 12:25 PM PDT Hi guys, If this isn't the write place for this post, please delete. I'm considering getting into real estate, but I'm hesitant about signing up for an online course. I would love to find a fairly cheap one that is still good, but I'm not too sure! Is Real Estate Express any good? I'm 23 years old so this industry is all completely new to me and I don't want to make any wrong turns. Any advice is much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
