What are the best little gear tips you've accumulated?

I just reorganized my day-to-day gear (pics here: https://imgur.com/a/S4eohEP) and thought some of the little things I've figured out/picked up along the way might be of use to the community:

Ranger beads: Basically a simple abacus. Mine counts to 49. Bottom set of beads is ones, top set is tens. Makes it super easy to count the number of shots I've taken.

Hand sanitizer: COVID aside, we move plungers and toilet brushes, put seats down, and generally touch stuff. Eventually we touch something we wish we hadn't.

Nite Ize Gear Ties: Grippy and bendable, you can hold a door, hold blinds up, secure a power bank to a tripod leg, whatever.

Super Clamp on Tripod: the best way to not have to carry your tripod.

1¢ CamRanger Mini Holder: I always tether, but hanging the pouch is always a hassle, plus I worry about wrecking the USB port on my camera. Cut the plug off a basic phone cord, loop it and secure with a zip tie and plug into the ethernet port on the CamRanger.

Carry a multi tool and hex tool: Something is going to break.

Velcro everything: Line your cases with the loop side and put little pieces of hook side on your gear.

Carry extra cords, power supplies and adapters. They're small, and a 'better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it' kind of thing.

Have backups: I've had equipment fail on shoots, and nothing makes you look like more of a pro than switching to a backup without missing a beat.

A-Clamps: Holds blinds, cords and curtains. Doubles as a small doorstop.

Reorganize often: Maybe you thought you'd need that 70-300mm lens, but you haven't used it for months. Reorganize your case often to eliminate unused gear.

Carry an orange road cone. This little thing has gone a long way with no parking streets in private neighborhoods.

Also an Orange Vest: Sometimes you need to stand in the road, sometimes you just need to look official.

Shoe Covers: Get the good ones, they're way less slippery than socks and cheaper than a slip and fall with camera gear.

What are the best little gear tips you've accumulated?

    Here are some of mine:

1 - Ranger beads: Basically a simple abacus. Mine counts to 49. Bottom set of beads is ones, top set is tens.

2 - Hand sanitizer: COVID aside, we move plungers and toilet brushes, put seats down, and generally touch stuff. Eventually we touch something we wish we hadn't.

3 - Nite Ize Gear Ties: Grippy and bendable, you can hold a door, hold blinds up, secure a power bank to a tripod leg, whatever.

4 - Super Clamp on Tripod: the best way to not have to carry your tripod.

5 - 1 cent CamRanger Holder: I always tether, but hanging the pouch is always a hassle, plus I worry about wrecking the USB port on my camera. This is just a plug from a basic phone cord to plug into the ethernet port on the CamRanger.

6 - Carry a multi tool and hex tool.

7 - Velcro everything: Line your cases with the loop side and put little pieces of hook side on your gear.

8 - Carry extra cords, power supplies and adapters. They're small, and a 'better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it' deal.

9 - Have backups: I've had equipment fail on shoots, and nothing makes you look like more of a pro than switching to a backup without missing a beat.

10 - A-Clamps: Holds blinds, cords and curtains. Doubles as a small doorstop.

11 - Reorganize often: Maybe you thought you'd need that 70-300mm lens, but you haven't used it for months. Reorganize your case to eliminate unused gear.

[Critique] Need some critique for my first 5 house

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 11:16 AM PDT

So shot 5 houses so far and think I am definitely getting better with shooting, quality, light, and fixing the photos with lightroom. I shoot for my parents and the latest house I shot, they think is the best. I want to start advertising and finding more clients. But what can I improve on and what do I do good at?

    My gear: EOS Rebel T6 EF-S, Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6, Neewer TT560 Flash

The last 6 are from the last house I shot

    Theta Z1 vs. Matterport camera

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 03:05 AM PDT

Can anyone tell me or possibly show examples of what results these two cameras yield when it comes to virtual tours and grabbing stills afterwards? Thanks in advance. I am hopefully about to start doing a bunch of these for a local broker, and he is going to purchase the camera. I am guessing the actual Matterpoint camera is better, but I am hoping to talk him into the Theta Z1 to save me time on each shoot.
