Video...In 2020 Do I need to offer it to get ANY business in this industry? Posted: 23 Sep 2020 06:44 PM PDT I've done photography for years recreationally. I shoot mostly film, but am pretty versatile when it comes to subject matter. I want to do real estate photography but that being said it will not be my main source of income. I have a Nikon D4 with good lenses, a godox flash, capture one software (no HDR functions built in), a decent tripod, and I am wondering if this is enough to get me started. I live downtown Toronto and have a few friends who are real estate agents. I was thinking of focusing on condos for now, since I am surrounded by them and they are smaller to start with. But what I am really wondering; is video a neccessity in this day and age, even for a newb? It seems like everywhere I look everyone does drones/matterport tours etc. Should I sell my D4 and get a camera that does better video (4k vs my 1080p capable D4)? I was thinking of maybe grabbing the DJI Osmo Pocket but have read its focal area is a little tight for true real estate. I don't even know if a gimbal or crane can support a D4 with a 16-35 or the like... Is it worth doing some feeler marketing/outreach with no video/drone stuff just to start? Or will most agents not even give me the time of day if all I offer is stills? thank you for any and all feedback [link] [comments] |
