Thank You gift to realtor for no charge FSBO paperwork Posted: 06 Nov 2020 06:41 PM PST A realtor did a very nice thing for my parents and I'd like to ask you what an appropriate Thank you gift might be. This realtor was selling a condo for a young 20s couple. My parents listed their house FSBO and the young couple said they wanted it, but couldn't officially commit until their condo sold. My parents, out of kindness and enjoying this young couple took the house off the FSBO market. The young couple's condo sold and their real estate agent offered to do the real estate paperwork for them as buyers on my parent's FSBO—he waived his $1k fee and did it for free...a very kind thing for the buyers and sellers. What is an appropriate way to say thank you? [link] [comments] |
Is having an open house for a apartment after there is an full price offer strange? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 08:32 AM PST My boss is having me do an open house for an apartment that already has a full price offer on the table agreeable to the landlord. Is it weird she is having me do another open house today for the apartment? There was another open house where only 1 person showed up. My concern is she's wasting my time but more importantly anyone that attends today. I'm probably over thinking this but just wanted to survey the community. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Nov 2020 01:46 PM PST Bay Area Realtor Has anyone advertised in Luxury Home Magazine & received good results? I'm thinking about buying ad space with them, but I wanted to see if it was beneficial for anyone first. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Considering quitting after 2 months Posted: 06 Nov 2020 05:15 PM PST About 5 years ago, I was selling real estate and quit about 10 months in. I had a couple nightmare clients and decided that the job just wasn't for me. After I quit, I started working in the corporate world full time and still am. Almost five years later, my former mentor at my old brokerage reaches out to me and tells me she joined a team since I had quit and they were looking for a showing partner if I was interested. I met up with her for coffee just to hear her out and ultimately made the decision to enter real estate again. I had to reinstate my license by pretty much starting from square one because I had let it expire. Two months ago my license finally went active and I've been doing the job I got hired for. I've probably taken about 6 clients out so far but not one deal yet. Only had one person put an offer in on almost 40 showings I've done only to have the seller reject it. My split isn't great either - my split is 10% with the team, then my brokerage takes 30% and my "sponsor" (the person who recruited me basically) gets 6%. I'm beginning to wonder why I'm working so hard and driving all over the place if the pay is going to end up being minuscule. I'm also reminded of all the reasons why I quit before. A lot of buyers are flakey, my nights and weekends are gone, I never feel 100% safe because I'm a small female. I wanted to believe it would be different this time being on a team and actually getting fed solid leads instead of having to do lead gen on my own. I just feel like I made a mistake and I'm worried about burning a bridge with my team if I quit two months in. But I think if I quit this time I'll never go back to selling RE again and I'm fine with that. Oh, and the two agents on the team that are primarily the ones feeding me their leads are both about to go on parental leave. I'm going to have all of their clients while they're out. I feel like they're spreading me a little thin and I'm dreading every day lately. Any advice is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Listing agent charging selling agent a fee Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:57 PM PST "Buyer's Agent Commission is % in MLS less $xxx." I've seen this on a few listings now and am wondering if any of you do this or have seen it/experienced it. Any insight? I'm inclined to tell the listing agent to kick rocks and the offer will be without this ridiculous fee. This seems unethical and another way to squeeze money out of a deal. Have any of you pushed back against this and if so, what happened? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:01 PM PST It's on the website as an option. Whenever I select it, it tells me it's not yet available. Does anybody know why they aren't available and when they will be? Would be awesome to have [link] [comments] |
Sellers did not disclose neighbor pulled a gun on them. Now what? Posted: 06 Nov 2020 02:37 PM PST See my other post more related to home defense but here's the gist: New family home. Fought hard for the house because it was "perfect". Turns out there is a person living in their car in the empty lot behind our house. Their family owns the property. Now the leaves have fallen and said person has a wonderful clear line of sight into my house and yard while they "camp." Said person, according to neighbors, pulled a gun on the previous homeowners over allegations of dumping yard waste along the property line (on neighbors side in the woods). We are now concerned for our safety and privacy. How long before this person thinks we have trespassed or dumped something? Do we have any standing to do anything? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
