Realtor continually asks me to manipulate REO property images

Are there different rules for foreclosures? I have a client who will send me to the most god awful dump of a place and expects me to remove stains in carpet, holes in walls, etc. in post.

Is this not illegal or at least against the rules? I honestly hate working for this guy because his properties are such disasters usually. Every other realtor I have ever met has been adamant about NOT manipulating the images and how photos must accurately depict the property.

Is there something I am missing here?

    Technology Is Hard For Some

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 09:33 AM PDT

I deliver photos via Dropbox. Although there's a big, blue "Download" button and I have instructions -- with pictures even! -- it seems that some non-technology savvy people just have issues. And before anyone says it's always older clients, it's not -- I've got one who's younger than me who can't seem to figure it out.

So I tell them I'll bring them a thumb drive and I'll get it back later. (Not giving them the thumb drive as then I'd have to charge sales tax, etc.) Just a delivery mechanism.

So I get a new client who's having issues. I'd told her I'd bring her a thumb drive with the pictures if she'd like. "How can I get it to you?"

    Her: "Can you e-mail it?"

Don't know if I can post this / not a question but I've been looking at real estate videos and this one is the best personally I've ever seen (minus the models). I really feel the lush mood of the home and I'm kind of sick of all the generic EDM drone videos haha

How much would you charge for an IGTV video?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 08:52 AM PDT

Hi! I made a collaboration video for my YouTube channel but thought to do an IGTV to show my video work. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9qatPfHKsE/ I just changed the crop on premiere pro and posted on my IGTV.

I just had a realtor reach out to want to have a similar IGTV which is great. It took me around 2 hours to film and 1 hour to edit but I probably would have filmed some parts differently if it's just IGTV (vertical b-roll videos as well as horizontal). I guess I can put it as an additional thing on my rate sheet but if she just wanted the video should I charge something like $150 or more like $250 but is the latter a bit high just for an IGTV hahaha. Thanks!

Do you to shoot more vertical pics/videos now because of Instagram/social media? Do realtors ask for that more now?

FYI horizontal images look tiny on IG. Arch Digest, Elle Decor etc pretty much only post vertical photos. I've been shooting vertically for myself for the past few years but curious for real estate if it's he same.

Putting together a rate shoot. Do you guys charge for travel?

I'm new to all this. I'm in a big size and some places are potentially far but if they are willing to pay I read somewhere online like $1 per mile or something? Should I put this in my rate sheet in the extras section?
