Real Estate Photography: Charging the interior designer when I was doing a real estate shoot? |
Charging the interior designer when I was doing a real estate shoot? Posted: 19 May 2020 08:03 PM PDT Hi! Had my first real estate shoot today and the interior designer was also there pointing out every single angle that I should shoot and scoffed at me for only giving 40 images then we kind of agreed that if they wanted additional photos they can pay for the additional. But then I realized the interior designer doesn't have the license for the photos? I really should have brought this up during the shoot but didn't realize until after. I can imagine it being a tense conversation between the realtor and interior designer and he said she is really difficult but he is a really nice guy. I don't really mind burning the bridge between me and the interior designer but want to work more with the realtor in the future. Anyway, thoughts on how I should proceed? Thanks so much! Posted: 19 May 2020 07:03 PM PDT I've been doing real estate photography for one realtor for a little over a year now. I really enjoy it and would love to expand. This is the latest house I delivered (dropbox link) I use a Sony a7rII with a 16-35mm f4, almost always at 16mm, and a speedlight. Most of the houses are smaller and I'm not sure how to switch to my xplor 600 or if it's even needed. These are 1800x1350 (4:3), 72ppi. I primarily use Lightroom's HDR stacking function, but will use photoshop for any necessary details. I've learned a lot watching youtube videos and this reddit, but I've not gotten actual feedback from others in the field. The realtor did tell me that, for one particularly cluttered house, some clients told them the pictures looked better than the house did (probably because we did our best to clear areas of clutter as we went, but I still took it as a positive), haha. Along with any feedback you can give, what is another service you feel is valuable to add? Thank you for your time! [link] [comments] |
