Real Estate Photography: Having trouble deciding on what to do |
Having trouble deciding on what to do Posted: 25 Aug 2020 08:47 AM PDT Hey everyone I'm trying to start a business in real estate photography, and i need some advice on what my best option would be for making a portfolio. I want to get photos of some nice homes for a portfolio, but i have kind of an inner conflict on what I should do. I have a friends house that I am already planning to shoot this weekend, which is great! But other than that, I am not sure if i should be contacting real estate agents about maybe providing free photos? I figure that would be a safe and easy way to get photos of some decent homes, but I also feel like if I am going to be making connections with local agents, i should be charging money right from the start. I don't want to give a good agent free photos one time, and then come back later and charge a fee and risk losing a solid connection. However i don't have a portfolio of work that would justify a price! I know I am a decent photographer and can take great photos, but I can't show for that- yet. I've thought maybe charging something small, like $50 or something but I am honestly not sure. I also live in south florida and covid has hit pretty hard in my area, so open houses seem few and far between. I have thought of offering free services to air bnb hosts in my area, but thats about my only idea. But even with airbnb, its tough to get in contact with hosts because I am pretty sure the site prohibits contacting hosts for other services. If anyone has a good suggestion, please reach out! Thanks! (-: [link] [comments] |
