Posted: 20 Mar 2020 07:13 AM PDT Looking to switch brokerages and was wondering if anyone is currently working with a broker paying 100% commissions. What has been your experience? It seems a bit too good to be true. I operate pretty independently and don't rely on my broker for much training or support. I paid them a good chunk of money last year and am thinking about making a change. Thanks [link] [comments] |
PA closes all non-essential business, realtors included. Posted: 19 Mar 2020 04:41 PM PDT Pennsylvania has announced that all non-essential businesses have to close by 8pm tonight. This apoears to include Real Estate Offices, Insurance companies and title companies. Also new home building, it looks like. VERY interested to hear from PA realtors/lenders/etc about how this works for you, now and in the future as this goes on, as I'm pretty sure other states will follow shortly [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 08:53 AM PDT Have you guys noticed any affects on sellers due to COVID-19? Less buyers interested? Lower offers? Having to drop prices to drag more traction? Longer listing ages? [link] [comments] |
Realtor commission upfront on CD? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 08:32 AM PDT I got a Contract for Deed ( lands contract) offer for $15,000 down and $700 per month on a $70,000 home. This offer was given from the realtor. She wants her full commission up front. Is this normal? I have a problem with this because they're taking one third of the initial down payment from the buyer and I have to wait another ~10 years to get the full money. I don't understand why the realtor should get their full payment immediately. What can I say to the realtor? Is it possible that they just get the percentage of the down payment based over the years that it's paid off and I send them a payment monthly? This is what I will l probably propose to the realtor For example based on 6% commission. They would get $900 from down payment and $27.50/month for 10 years. House is in Minnesota [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Mar 2020 08:10 PM PDT Hi All, buyer here. My husband's job transferred our family from NC to PA. He is in corporate housing in PA (a Residence Inn) and my son and I are set to move up on April 6 when we are scheduled to close on our new home. Appraisal and inspections are complete, earnest money has been paid. All is going according to plan, and then the PA gov shut everything down tonight (all non-life sustaining businesses). I haven't contacted my realtor yet because I'm sure that she's working on getting everything together before calling us to go over everything tomorrow. However, since I have my anxiety pants on, I was hoping one of you would be able to tell me whether we're still good to close in a couple weeks or if I will be couch surfing with my son somewhere here in NC? How are prices doing in your area? Posted: 19 Mar 2020 07:54 PM PDT I'm already seeing some places going for 5-8% less than what they would have sold for a month ago. Also seeing some going for about the same. [link] [comments] |
