[VA] Houses in my neighborhood selling within days even during the crisis! Should I continue to stage my home, is this a trend?

I hope this is the correct forum, if not I apologize in advance.

I live in a great, desirable neighborhood in a small city in rural Virginia. I noticed many houses up for sale are under contract within days of the sign going up and for ridiculous amounts. My home was 99% staged and ready to put on the market right before the virus, so I am not sure if I should sell now or not.

Can you offer insight as to why the homes are selling so quickly, is it interest rates or anxiety about a recession that is sparking this? Thank you for answering my questions.

    [USA] Pandemic Unemployment Assistance

    Posted: 28 Mar 2020 12:50 PM PDT

NAR has sent an email to its members in regards to this economic relief package and mentions one program that is supposed to help independent contractors like Realtors that don't qualify for regular unemployment.

I have not found any details of the program or any information on how to apply. If you learn anything, please update this post and we'll sticky it for the subscribers.

    From NAR's website linked below:

Unemployment Benefits for Self-Employed Self-employed individuals, independent contractors, and other individuals who are unable to work as a direct result of COVID-19 public health emergency, and would not qualify for regular unemployment benefits under state law may be eligible to receive "Pandemic Unemployment Assistance." This excludes individuals who have an ability to telework with pay or individuals who are receiving sick leave or other paid leave benefits. The unemployment assistance is available to individuals who are unemployed, partially unemployed, or unable to work for the weeks impacted as a result of COVID-19 between Jan. 27- December 31, 2020. These benefits will be administered by the states, in accordance with this new Federal law. There is a maximum of 39 weeks of assistance, where the amount is equal to what is authorized under the state unemployment compensation law, plus an additional $600 per week for up to four months.

How to produce results despite trying times?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 08:44 PM PDT

I understand in these trying times that we find different alternatives to make a profit while everybody is in their respective homes, may it be online reselling, Alibaba sales, etc.

However, I am curious if there is still anybody out there making progress in the real estate industry despite these hard times. I've been brainstorming for some ideas to still be productive in the industry whilst keeping things sensitive, unfortunately, there is not much I can do on my end. I suppose catching up with my clients (buyers/sellers) might seem insensitive, but one thing is for sure, there are still a lot of distressed sellers out there wanting to liquidate their properties.

Any thoughts? I'm slowly depleting my resources and I know this entire thing will exceed April. Some of my friends are at the leisure of their time playing video games and watching Netflix. As much as I am tempted to do that, I want to rise above these trying times and still produce results.

I hope everybody is safe and still trying to get that bread.

Do realtors like to message through IG?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:29 PM PDT

I've had some message me (I'm a photographer) and the early ones I responded saying I can email them and they some didn't email me back or took forever to.

Should I just keep the conversation to IG? Personally I feel like email is easier with all the links and everything and I can access on my computer but if most seem to prefer IG maybe I should reach out to them through there from now on? Don't know if this makes a difference but I'm in LA
