    Is this the typical experience?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:12 AM PDT

So I joined a brokerage two months ago as a new agent. I was paired up with the "office manager/broker" of my office to do "on boarding and training". Unfortunately she's a very busy broker and constantly has calls and emails and meetings. She would schedule a sit down with me to get my registration started for example, and what should have been a 30 minute meeting would take over 3 hours because she'd constantly take phone calls and have meetings in between and I would have to wait and I felt like it was so disorganized and I didn't learn anything.

After all my "on boarding" was finished I actually had a listing from a friend that I needed help with because I obviously have no clue what I'm doing and I expected she'd be guiding me through it but she just paired me up with another agent and made me split my commission 50/50 with her. This other realtor doesn't really seem to know what she's doing 100% from what I've observed and not very interested in teaching me.

At the end of this, I feel like I haven't learned a whole ton and still don't feel comfortable doing the next deal on my own..I also don't feel like I've been given any tools to help me find my next lead, and no one is really telling me what I should do next and I'm feeling like I made the wrong decision about a brokerage to join. Am I being unrealistic with my expectations? Is this the normal experience to kind of feel lost for the first few months and not really know what direction to take things?

Do you use 1 phone for business or personal?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2020 08:58 PM PDT

I recently got a second phone and separate number for personal. Family and close friends only. It can be annoying at times to juggle two phones, but when I totally want to separate myself from the business it's a godsend. I highly recommend it for everyone. Stress levels went down. I am able to complete personal tasks like cut my grass and go to the gym with ear buds in and not be interrupted. Play outside with my kids, go out with family and friends. Zero distractions or worries.

I have no self control and like to stay on top of my tasks and used to answer calls texts emails immediately. This has been a great solution.

I just wanted to share how excited I am.

Does phone number area code matter?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:27 AM PDT

I have an area code from the area that I moved from which is totally different than the area I will be serving in. Would it be worth it to get a separate phone with a new area code? This would also split my two phones from personal and business entities.

What kind of branding/social media/blogosphere activities do you use as a part of your real estate brand?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:15 AM PDT

I recently hit a roadblock with the licensing exam; I was supposed to take the test yesterday but, due to some problems with the testing facility's staff and system login, I was unable to do so and now have to wait another day to reschedule for the coming weeks.

In light of all of that, I'm getting started on my brand planning while I wait to set the date, again. What kind of branding do you do for your career and how are you getting the word out with your online presence? I don't mean cold calling or methods of finding leads, but instead how are you connecting with the world and making a name for yourself?

EDIT: I have a brokerage lined up and they're liberal with allowing their agents to brand how they please (i.e. you can have your own website, can create your own color scheme, etc.), so any ideas are helpful!

    Realtor.com questions

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 08:41 AM PDT

Hey there, Realtor.com does not seem to reflect my new listings and pull from the MLS in a timely manner. Like hours and hours after I make an update the updates appear on realtor.

The info seems to populate much more quickly on Zillow and other sites.

    Any insight?

    Thanks

Y'all Cold callers: Anyone cold calling with Remine?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:09 AM PDT

What's your experience? Does it make Vulcan/Mojo/Cole Realty redundant? How many calls a day/live people you reach? How much time you cold call a week/a day? How long you've been cold calling?

    Lead Companies

    Posted: 05 Sep 2020 12:15 PM PDT

Hey guys new realtor in FL here. I was very fortunate to get two deals thanks to family members in the last 3 months but now that those closings are done I am starting to freak out about finding new clients. Cold calling for the last 4 days was rough to say the least. I've been looking into companies like Bold Leads( very expensive) and Market Leader who promise guaranteed leads or exclusive leads. Does anyone have any experience with these companies? Or perhaps better companies that offer similar help? I love being a realtor and these 2 closings have really shown me how special the career can be. So yeah looking for some new realtor advice and feedback on these lead generators. Thanks!

Do you post your listings on social media platforms?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 12:09 AM PDT

    Hi,

I am the founder of a social media management platform. We are seeing realtors signing up for our tool recently. That got me thinking that we should put out a course for realtors. We are working on one and I'll appreciate if you can answer the following questions.

    1. Do you post (listings, tips etc.) on different social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
    2. If not, what's stopping you?
    3. If you do, do you do it yourself or have it outsourced?
    4. What is the one feature that you would like the most in a tool that helps you post on social platforms?

    Florida Realtors & BPOs

    Posted: 05 Sep 2020 12:09 PM PDT

Florida Realtors, how can I start doing BPOs? What sites can I go to and do I need to have anything besides my license to get BPO jobs? Are there any requirements I should know about?
