Signing with Brokerage today! Newest licensee!

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 04:46 AM PDT

After years of debating on the idea of becoming a real estate agent, I paid for the course, studied my butt off (in between work and 2 small kids) and passed! I was referred to a top brokerage here in WI and signing with them this morning. I have been a retail banker for 16 years and for the first time in my working career, I will be my own boss! Create a schedule around my children. I'm not asking for advice as I know the forum doesn't like that, :) I am more a less so excited and have so many plans after my research that I can't wait to get going. My husband & friends have been my legit life line and support allowing this to happen. Cheers folks! I am following my dream! Here's to the ups and downs ahead and NEVER giving up!!!!

I faked it till I made it and landed a $3,000,000 listing.....I have zero connections to wealthy potential buyers or buyer agents...I have had my license for two months and never met the other agents...what is the best way to go about this?

Finally quit my day job to go full time!

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 07:43 AM PDT

I got my licence (Southern Alberta, Canada) literally 2 weeks before COVID shut down everything, open houses were my main strategy to get going as my day job is a Mon to Friday 9-5 so it has taken me a little longer to get going than anticipated. I have a few deals under my belt and in the pipeline as well as a handful of listings. I finally told my boss and my last day is next Wednesday!!!! He was very supportive and wished me well, this company has been very good to me over the last 5 years si I'm glad I'm leaving on good terms :-)

I've been juggling the two for a while and even managing a few deals with a day job, even though my job is very flexible and I'm out and about a lot for meetings, was getting too much.

I feel excited to be able to put 100% into this and so glad I don't have to do my 45 minute commute ever again!

    Instagram/Facebook Page Group

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 04:54 AM PDT

I understand the Instagram and Facebook algorithms (sadly 😂). Anyone with active social media interested in starting a small, authentic engagement group to keep us on the news feeds? Would just send a message via instagram in a group chat saying "hey I have a post up" and we could all go like/comment (engagement = organically being seen in timelines). LMK!

Any recommendations for online schools for TX? Inexpensive but thorough, maybe with test prep as well?

    Facebook ads advice

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 07:17 AM PDT

Hey guys! I am a new realtor and I've been paying Facebook campaigns to generate leads and I am using the FB lead ad form. The issue is most of the leads I do get are fake emails and numbers. I do not know how else to generate leads. I do have 2 people in my database but I am wondering if I have to resort to paying Zillow for premiere agent. I want to focus on being a buyer's agent so if you guys have any advice I would really appreciate it. I know I'm new but I'm just trying to figure things out, the coaching program in my firm isn't that great and I am looking for any sort of guidance. Real estate is my passion and I really want to be successful. Thank you guys for reading this.

Writing an essay about jobs in the real estate sector for a college course. There is an interview requirement and I don’t know anyone in the sector in real life. Interview is very brief and I would appreciate it very much!

If you choose to help me you only have to do one set not both. Your answers do not have to go into great detail but it's great if you do!! You don't have to respond to EVERY question if you don't want/don't have an answer. Would help if you could list your name and profession at the start of the interview as well. I would appreciate it a lot!!

    Interview 1:

Did you attend and graduate from a university?

If so, did you intern while completing your graduate degree?

How long was the gap in time between graduation (high school graduation if you did not attend a university) and your first employment opportunity?

Did you complete your state's Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Exam before graduation (high school graduation if you did not attend university)?

Do you have any certifications or designations recognized by the National Association of Realtors?

What career path of the Real Estate sector do you specialize in?

    Are you self-employed?

If not, do you wish to pursue self-employment within the real estate sector in the future?

If so, would you pursue self-employment within the same career path you currently specialize in?

    Interview 2:

How many different career paths were you aware of before obtaining a job in the real estate sector?

What career path of the real estate sector do you specialize in?

    Are you self-employed?

    a. If not, how many applications did you submit to jobs within the Real Estate sector?

    b. Were all of these jobs within the same career path?

    c. How many of your applications did you receive a reply to?

    d. What would you say was the average amount of time between the submitted application and a response from a prospective employer?

    e. How would you describe the possibility for professional development within your career path: nonexistent/difficult/adequate/ample?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 06:00 AM PDT

I've been super interested in Real Estate from a young age, especially when it comes to renting out property. Do any experienced realtors here have any advice for someone young trying to get started? Besides getting my license, how do I learn the complicated business of Real Estate?

What is being a real estate agent/realtor like?

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 10:04 PM PDT

    Hi!

I'm seriously considering going into real estate, or looking at doing some intern work to see what it is all about. I would really appreciate any advice, or insight into how it actually is. I'm from New Zealand so any kiwis here that could tell me what it is like here would be much appreciate!

    Thank you!
