Realtors: To quit or not to quit

Realtors: To quit or not to quit

To quit or not to quit

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 12:05 AM PST

In my first year and a half I've done 5 deals. But man, did they take forever to achieve. Days and days of door knocking in 100 degree heat, cold calling, open houses, online activity... and the grind of always trying to chase the next client is killing me. I'm an insanely anti-social person (I know, what was I thinking getting into real estate), and constantly having to sell myself to people is getting so old. I hate being around people. I hate always having to pretend I'm having a good time. I hate the "look at me, I'm a fast-moving, hot, sharp salesperson" mentality. I don't like handing out my business card and saying "and if you ever need a Realtor..." and seeing the reluctant look on people's faces. But I'm also a super guilty person. I feel like I'll disappoint my husband and my entire family. The money is great and at times I enjoy helping people with these big steps, and I've made some friends along the way. Are there any other anti-social/introverted Realtors on here (do they even exist, lol)? I am very close to just throwing in the towel. I have been going back and forth on this for a few months now.

Question: Are tattoos a hinderance in this line of work?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 10:33 AM PST

As the title says, do tattoos make it harder to become a realtor in any way? The most revealing tattoos are on my arms (obviously nothing bad-floral and nature black and white) with one tattoo of pressed rosemary extending onto my hand (it goes to about the base of my pointer finger, more on the side of my hand and thumb). I always wanted to get into being a realtor when I was younger and have thought about giving it a go once I'm more financially stable. But now I'm kind of worried about my tattoos being a problem. Maybe just with some clients/snobbier people but what are your thoughts? I have no issue wearing like, driving gloves or something if need be, but should I just give up my dreams or is it really not an issue?

    Change closing date

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 03:14 AM PST

Hey everyone, Im buying a home and I have the closing date scheduled already but we had an emergency at work and I will be out of state that day. Is a big deal to change the closing date? Is that something complicated? My realtor told me to leave but he didn't sound confident to me, so I am kind of worried, not sure if that is something easy to reschedule or not Any ideas????? Thanks!!

Deed of Trust in a Lien Theory State?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 07:13 PM PST

I am pretty confused on how exactly a Deed of Trust can exist in a Lien Theory State? If lien theory states have the borrower hold title, how exactly can this type of loan contract exist?

New to real estate and taking the class. Thanks in advance!
