What's your favorite tool for processing 360 degree imagery? Posted: 24 Apr 2021 05:22 PM PDT I've been using a Theta SC2 (I hate Thetas but they seem to be the least worst for the price) so thankfully I don't need to do manual stitching. I do, however, do multiple exposures to later merge to HDR(ish) because Thetas have the dynamic range of a potato. I've been using Hugin to merge the exposures and reproject for better verticals. The interface is awkward to use, it has a terrible workflow. My main complaint is that the end result tends to be a little towards underexposed and I haven't found a way to adjust the exposure for it to look like I want it to. There IS an EV setting but it seems to do nothing, the end result is the same no matter what I set it to. I end up fixing it up later in Photoshop, which is not that much of an additional hassle because I'm already using it to remove the tripod from the image. What's your favorite tool for merging exposures and reprojecting? After that it all goes into Marzipano which works great if the default settings are good enough for you. I'd personally prefer to be able to select the initial view on each shot depending on where you're coming from, and maybe a little more of zoom in/out, but it still works well for me plus I find the other tools I know that allow this a bit unreliable (suck it, Roundme and Kuula). What's your process like? Do you have favorite tools or viewing platforms? [link] [comments] |
