Real Estate Photography: What kind of lighting should I do to get pictures like this? Any tutorials I can look up? How much of this is post processing? Been trying to edit my old pictures but no where close can I get them to look like these. :( Thanks!

Is this going to be good or bad for business?

What's the general consensus here on how this pandemic will ultimately impact real estate photographers? I have been a videographer and photographer for over a decade now, but I just recently decided to hone in on RE photos. Of course, I feel like I picked the worst time ever to start this new venture; I bought a drone, got certified, built a new website, got new business cards, new business clothes, etc, etc, and started pounding the pavement looking for prospective clients three Fridays ago, which was the day around here that most of society screeched to a halt. So, do you think that once this is over there will be more business as a result of people(myself included) having to sell their houses?

    1. Good question — there are actually several types of real estate photography depending on the property and purpose.

For most listings, photographers focus on interior + exterior shots, but for higher-end properties, things like drone photography and twilight shots can make a big difference in presentation.

From our experience working with photographers, the key is not just the shooting style but also consistent editing (especially exposure blending and color correction), since that’s what really makes listings stand out online. High-quality images can significantly impact how buyers perceive a property.

    2. Great breakdown of real estate photography gear! I totally agree that a wide-angle lens and tripod are must-haves for capturing interior spaces properly.

If anyone here is looking to enhance their final images even more, post-processing also plays a huge role. We’ve been using professional editing services at BeatColor to improve lighting, colors, and overall presentation — it really makes listings stand out.
