Real Estate Photography: Is Flash Necessary?? |
| Posted: 04 Sep 2020 11:36 AM PDT I have been shooting RE for a little while now and so far everyone I have worked with is very pleased with my work. Everything I have been doing has been bracketed HDR photos on my A7III with 16-35 F4. I usually do 3 photos at 2EV. I have never used a flash even though I shoot 1m+ houses regularly. That being said, as I have been researching on YouTube and all over - in order to get the best results for window pulls you should use a flash to make post easier and get better quality etc. Is it worth it to invest in a flash, and for those who do use flash (preferably did bracket then switched to flash) how much does it slow down your workflow when in the house? Most of the houses I have done are around 3000sf so I need to move rather quickly as to not spend 5 hours in a house while the agent waits (thanks COVID)... Now I am in and out in about 90-120 min and deliver around 30-35 photos which takes about 2 hours to import/sort/edit/export/deliver. Since I am doing RE full time, I don't mind spending money on the right gear - that being said, should I go with something like a Godox AD400 type flash, or a Sony/Godox external on camera flash for a fraction of the cost? I know I put a lot in here, so thanks for reading and thanks in advance for the help!
