Real Estate Photography: What is Used for Virtual Staging?

What is Used for Virtual Staging?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2020 01:00 PM PST

I am a photographer who mainly shoots still photographs of apartments and have been asked if I am capable of virtual staging the apartments with future/decor for those that are empty. Is there an industry standard software that is used? I am currently trying Adobe Dimensions but am having a hard time getting it too look real, I may need to give it more time though. Looking for any kind of advice you guys have to offer. Thanks!

    1. Great question! This is something many beginners in real estate photography are curious about when starting out.

Typically, photographers use a full-frame camera with a wide-angle lens (around 14–24mm or 16–35mm) to capture more space, along with a tripod to keep images sharp and consistent—especially when shooting interiors or using HDR techniques.

Having the right equipment definitely helps, but from my experience working with real estate imagery, the editing process plays just as important a role in achieving a clean and professional final result.

If anyone here is looking to enhance their property photos and overall presentation, you can check out Phephotos for professional real estate photo editing services.

Thanks for bringing up this topic—very useful discussion!
