How do you deal with friends firing you? Posted: 24 Nov 2020 05:43 AM PST My friend and her husband fired me. I was okay with this I also felt that it was not working out. However, when she called to let me go I felt that she made it personal and not about me professionally. For example she says they wanted to go with another agent but decided to help me out. They did not communicate with me at ALL! My questions is how do you handle situations like this? I want to remain civil as she is part of my friend group. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:36 AM PST I'm wrapping up my real estate course and getting ready to get my license and get started and my home printer bricked. I've been looking at home printers but it's all been very frustrating and looking at reviews just makes me want to throw up my hands because they're all horrible. I just want the printer I currently have but it's a decade old and they don't make it anymore. It's an HP photosmart and I tried everything already but it's old and I've accepted it's time to move on lol. Does anyone have recommendations on home printers for our use? I want something that can handle whatever sales agents often do from home (which might be a bit more than usual re:Covid), something with double sided printing, good envelope options I guess and honestly if it can photo print as well that's a bonus. So what are y'all using? Thank you so much in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Nov 2020 05:03 PM PST My market is absolutely psychotic. 10%+ above asking is readily becoming the norm. Sellers raise their asking, homes are still selling at record amounts over the asking price. More often than not, this is also well over the How the heck are you supposed to get the house with an FHA loan in these conditions? I've had at least one buyer almost walk out of frustration at the state of the real estate market. [link] [comments]
Real estate express final exam! Posted: 24 Nov 2020 01:13 PM PST Ive been doing this course for about a month and a half. Missed a couple of days here or there cause life. I would do one chapter a day usually sometimes 2 and write down notes like a motherfucker. Each chapter from start to passing the chapter quiz took me anywhere from 1- 2 1/2 hours to complete. Seemed like every chapter quiz had more often then not shit that wasn't even in the chapter. I'd be there staring at my notes and going "what the fuck" lol. I feel like I'm a diligent note taker, sometimes writing down whole pages like a dumbass. So this was frustrating. Whatever, yesterday I took the pre final exam after studying for 8 hours. Literally going over notes and the chapter summaries. Took the practice exam closed book. Failed the final exam first go. Get a 100 second go. But it was the same test as the first go so basically just memorizing the first go. I'm in New York and have my 75hr final exam tomorrow. I'm feeling completely under prepared. Today I said not only am I gonna read each chapter summary I'm gonna take each chapter quiz right after. Literally haven't passed 1 quiz first try even after reading the summary's. Am I just this stupid and ill prepared? Or is real estate express just making it extra hard with questions so you're extra prepared for the real thing? I never had a problem retaining info with the kind of studying I've been doing especially for multiple choice test. Shit for multiple choice test even if I didn't study if I heard the information before the answer just usually pops up at me. I can't cancel cause it's within 24hrs so it's either take it and try or don't go and fail. A little wordy but feel like I needed to vent lol. What can I do/should i do in the next 6hrs before bed to make this shit stick in my head?? Anyone go thru real estate express and found it harder then the actual test??? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2020 12:32 PM PST May seem silly, but I just gained access to MLS and have a question. My client wants to see a house so I texted the listing agent to confirm. That agent is asking me my "mls timeline"... what does this even mean? [link] [comments]
What is the one thing that sets you apart from other agents? Posted: 24 Nov 2020 11:04 AM PST I am a new agent and am thinking of ways to try and stand out from all of the other realtors. It made me wonder what seasoned realtors think sets them apart from others and ups their service game. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2020 10:53 AM PST Hello - I'm a new agent (3-4mos in) in Southwest Virginia. Been trying to use every resource possible to lead generate but still struggling to find *solid* leads. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2020 06:27 AM PST Hey all I post it on here a few days ago about a guy that I thought you ghosted me this weekend when he left me on red. Turns out he had phone problems all weekend (¿) and couldn't call me back. We have been looking for a place for him for a month now (rental) either "he can't do" certain things or they won't accept the family dog (50lbs pitbull) He has to be out of his current place by Jan 15th so there is still time, but I don't get a good vibe from this and I don't think I'll be able to help him. It's mainly the size of the dog thats prohibiting him from getting a place and he knows this. I'm doing all I can for his price point and area. I'm having no luck. I feel like everytime we turn it's a dead end. [link] [comments]
| Hardwood vs. LVP in a luxury (over $1.5m) house Posted: 24 Nov 2020 06:23 AM PST I have a client whose "realtor friend" is telling her that replacing hardwoods, that are in really good shape, with LVP will be better for market value. I'm open to being wrong, but I haven't had anyone purposefully looking for LVP, but a lot that are purposefully looking for hardwoods, especially in the over $1M space. Any thoughts/input? | Posted: 24 Nov 2020 06:22 AM PST I'm a recently licensed agent who signed with a group back in October. I'm wanting to call expired/terminated listings but when i go to the no call list it's asking me to sign up as an organization sponsor. I asked my broker and they don't have one and don't seem to keen on getting access to the do not call list. So my question, is there a way to sign up/access it by being an independent contractor? Or how else can I access it? [link] [comments] |
Relisted because "buyer lost his job" Posted: 23 Nov 2020 06:10 PM PST I saw another relisting that was more diplomatic saying "through no fault of the seller". Is this typical wording on a relisting? Is it necessary to shame the former buyer, in the middle of a pandemic, before Thanksgiving? EDIT: corrected the diplomatic version (swapped 'buyer' to 'seller'). [link] [comments]
I feel crummy asking for advice Posted: 23 Nov 2020 10:50 PM PST I know everyone is super successful and all so I apologize but I'm just looking to start my career as a real estate agent. I'm hoping to get some ideas of programs/school for realtors? I've googled and read many articles but wanted to get the experts input. [link] [comments]
Asana - Any advice on how to set it up? Posted: 23 Nov 2020 02:00 PM PST I am just starting out with Asana. If anyone has any advice on how to configure for residential I would appreciate it. Thanks Reddit. [link] [comments]
Starting over during a pandemic Posted: 23 Nov 2020 03:26 PM PST Hi all! Just relocated to my college town from another town in the same state just a few hours away. I got set up with a great office, and I'm now starting my second year of Real Estate. I was on a team my first year and closed 8 transactions, mostly from my sphere I will now be an independent agent. Any advice for starting over with a small sphere in the midst of a pandemic?? Any and all advice is welcomed [link] [comments]
| Posted: 23 Nov 2020 06:18 PM PST Current homeowner. Received a voicemail today from a realtor from one of the large real estate companies in the area. She stated that she had several clients interested in houses in my area and was wondering if we were planning on selling. Is this common practice? Interestingly, we are planning on selling, just not moving until June so obviously not selling now. Just looking to here if this is common and if there are benefits to selling in this manner?
