Have you dealt with any ego maniac realtors or narcissistic Realtors? Curious on your guys opinions and stories

I dealt with this person he is a realtor, always putting down other Realtors and always talking negative things about anyone and putting himself on high pedestal all the time. Materialistic and flashy person. Seems to lack empathy as well.

I tried to make things work with this person or to at least bring peace and place boundaries but it never worked at all, in fact it made this person become more of a nuisance than a help. Toxic person in all.

I notice there are other realtors like this too and I wonder why ? A lot of realtors also drip fed information and they dnt really set you basic fundamentals in the beginning of your career either and expect you to know everything ,Why is that curious to hear yall opinions.

How did you advertise online since COVID?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 09:13 AM PST

I am about to graduate college within the next year and am looking to become a real estate agent. I was wondering if any of you have implemented technology since COVID like: online advertisement; to help you continue to find clients? If so, what did you use and how did it impact your client base going forward?

    Boundaries with Clients

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 08:40 PM PST

I have had some pretty high demand clients lately, especially ones that want to tour every home they see right away. Obviously it is a very competitive market right now but it is unrealistic to be out ever weeknight and all weekend out with these folks. It drains me and takes away from my other clients. I don't want them to miss out or think I don't care but I need to let them know this is getting to be a lot. Any advice?!

    The Next Few Years

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 09:06 AM PST

There's been a decent amount of news regarding mortgages and the economy slowing down due to the virus.

Does anyone know the state of the mortgage industry? (Residential and Commercial)

I know they froze evictions for a period of time and provided mortgage assistance. They also have the CARES act and pandemic unemployment funds fueled by the Feds and the states.

Home prices seemed relatively consistent and I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. When I'm outside I can still order food at restaurants and buy groceries at the store. Nothing seems that different but apparently it's having some kind of effect. They claim jobs have decreased and businesses are slowly going bankrupt.

Getting CA license as NY resident

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 06:38 AM PST

I'm going to be moving back to California in June 2021. I'm in the construction field, and am planning on getting and keeping up with a real estate license.

Can I take any online accredited 135 hour pre-licensing course while I'm still a New York resident? Do I have to notify anyone of anything, or send in any forms before-hand?

I'm asking because I'm about to sign up for and take an online 135 hour course, and don't want to miss a step and have it be for nothing.

    Thank you.

Becoming a Realtor to save commission?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 08:00 AM PST

I am in process of buying a house for first time and am thinking of completing a real estate course and getting a license-not only to save commission but also so I can keep my interests first during these transactions. Has anyone done anything similar where they got the license with sole purpose of purchasing their own property?

    Took my test

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 07:52 PM PST

So I've been posting semi-regularly about taking my pre-licensing course and exam. Well, exam day came today and I passed my state portion with flying colors. Sadly I failed the national portion by three questions. I wanted to leave a review of the CE shop and how I feel they prepared me for the test. This is mostly because I see a lot of questions on this sub about where to begin and how to start. First off if you're a self-motivated person I like the CE shop as a way to go also they are relatively cheap. For the state portion, I feel the CE shop did a great job. Questions were very similarly worded and had a lot of them in common. I felt it was great and that prep edge really helped me. The only thing I can complain about is the actual study portion doesn't help. In my opinion, I would just keep taking the practice tests over and over again. That's what I did and it worked great. Now for the national portion. This part wasn't so good. I took the practice exam twice the day before and three times the day of my exam. Could I have just been burnt out on the national portion before my exam yes it could be possible. Although I feel as though the questions that the ce shop prepares you for on the national portion is wildly different from the exam. Again I used prep-edge as it came with my course bundle. The way questions are worded isn't very close to the ce shop I feel. Now no hate toward the ce shop at all I did wonders for my first time taking it I feel but I always like to give people who were or are about to be in my situation an honest review of it. I am going to purchase the practice exam through PSI and see if that helps for the second time through and will keep you all updated. 7/10 for The CE Shop.
