Does auto HDR ever produce terrible results? Posted: 21 Mar 2021 12:22 PM PDT I'm new to real estate photography. I'm not talking about the kind of HDR that makes your eyes itch. I'm referring to creating an image that blends many photos together in order to show details in the highlights and shadows. Will merging a bunch of photos – 8 photos for example – via the auto HDR in Lightroom ever produce completely ass results? What are the limits of this function? I ask because I did a test shoot in my kitchen facing a window, and my intention was to manually blend shots in Photoshop, however, it was so bright outside that light would bloom around the edges of my window frame. When shooting a darker exposure to capture the detail, it now made the fame in my window black. So it just looked weird trying to manually merge these images. After fiddling with that for an hour I said, "f- it" and merge about 8 shots using Lightroom's HDR function and it actually did a really good job. So at this point I'm asking myself, why not just do that for every shot? Sure, the image is a little flat, but I can use the HDR as my base image, and then use my other exposures to dodge and burn to my liking? Is that a normal workflow or am I dumbass? Sizing Photos to MLS - In Camera... or Post Edit? Posted: 15 Mar 2021 05:54 PM PDT Hi Everyone, I am a newbie having trouble sending my clients images sized for MLS. They have a maximum resolution requirement of 1280x960. I am unclear if/how I should adjust my camera settings to meet that specification before shooting, or if/how that is something I need to adjust during import to lightroom? or export after post processing... any advice? What is the preferred method? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
