New real estate agent start up costs

    Posted: 22 Oct 2020 05:01 PM PDT

They say most businesses fail for lack of capital. Besides licensing fees, how much money should a new real estate agent set aside to start in this business and give themselves a real fighting chance at success? I'm talking office fees, MLS, MARKETING fees, etc etc etc. combined. Please be liberal in your estimate, I would rather be overfunded than underfunded.

I've been reading lots of posts about recommendations but can't decide on one. I am thinking of going with larson but there's so many other options. Anyone have any better courses for the FL sales associate test?

    REALTOR

    Posted: 22 Oct 2020 05:17 PM PDT

Hi everyone, im 24 and interested in becoming a realtor within the next few years. This is something ive always wanted to try but never got around and im deciding to stick to it. Although 2020 is going to shits and the market is super competitive in Vancouver & Toronto, i think itll be worth the "what if"

Im looking for advice on how to start and what jobs i can do now to help me in the future. Or should i even try to become a realtor in Vancouver if im going to move back to Toronto in a few years? Am i allowed to use the same license in a different province? Can i transfer?

Ive been told i just need to complete a realtor program and i get my license but that doesnt seem like itll be enough to be successful in the business. Do i need other skills ? How do i network in this field without any connections or experience?

Thanks for reading, any advice helps!

GA license study question/clarification: dual agency

    Posted: 22 Oct 2020 02:03 PM PDT

Sorry if this is the wrong sub, studying to take the exam and looking for clarification on the dual agency section.

What's an example of a circumstance that would call for a broker to represent both the buyer and seller? Is it like a situation where the broker has a client already looking to buy, and a client looking to sell, and their needs meet each other's or something?

Thanks for any feedback, I'm trying to actually learn this stuff rather than just memorize facts for the exam.

In GA, can a realtor offer part of their commission to seller if buyer delays closing to make the offer stronger?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2020 04:24 PM PDT

Say in the offer I (buyers agent) offer $500 to seller if buyer delays closing past 1 week to help make the offer stand out and also to show how much faith i have in my buyers ability to close. Would this be legal?
